Ruby Irene Dillon, 89, of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006, after a short illness. She was born August 31, 1916, to Harley and Irene Patterson in Urbana, Mo. Ruby graduated from Urbana High. She was a homemaker and manager with Interstate Bakeries. After retiring, she enjoyed decorating, gardening and cooking--family dinners won't be the same without her pies and fresh baked breads. She was loved and will be greatly missed. She is survived by three daughters: Sandi Thomas and husband, Mike, Vicki Sanders and husband, Terry, Barbara Calhoun and husband, Bill one grandson, Shawn Thomas and wife, Brenda two greatgrandchildren, Mike and Abbey Thomas niece, Evelyn Pitts nephew, Jim Patterson and best friend, Donna Hulse. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 27, at 2 p.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery on N. National. Open visitation will be today and Friday in Greenlawn South.
