Hill, Ruby (Jantz) 1906-2003 _ Ruby was born April 17, 1906 at Drake, SK. She attended school in the district of Kansas. She married Walter Hill in 1935 and lived in Lanigan where Walter worked in a garage. In 1935 they moved to the Cherry Ridge district near Nipawin. She was very community minded, belonging to the Community Club and was secretary of the Cherry Ridge Curling Club for many years. Ruby loved to take part in Craft shows, where she sold her quilts, oven mitts, juice tin foot stools, and braided rugs. In the summer her farm yard was beautiful, peony's were her specialty. After a heart attack in October 1996 she moved into Pineview Nursing Home where she spent her remaining 7 years. While in the Home she love the music and singing by the various groups, and especially playing bingo. Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Walter in 1978; two sisters, Lenore and Edna; two brothers; Orlando and Ben. Left to mourn her passing are her children; son Ken, his wife Tracy, their sons Scott and Glen, his wife Sherry, their sons Brett, Johnathon, Mark and Jeffrey; daughter, May Edwards and her sons Gary, Doug and Grant, his wife Pam and daughter Whitney; sister, Esther Matcham of St. Albert; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Coventry Funeral Services, Nipawin, SK, Lionel Kozun.
