Ruby Dell Sumner Brown - SAVANNAH - Ruby Dell Sumner Brown, 89, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Candler Hospital following a brief illness. The Laurens County native lived in Savannah most of her life. Ruby worked at Chatham Field during World War II, Union Camp, and at Candler Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Church of God; the daughter of the late William Robert Sumner and Mamie Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Brown; daughter, Shirley Chafin; sisters, Grace Sumner, Ruth Kent, Pearl Dawson and Alma Hartigan; brothers, William Norris Sumner and Robert Sumner. Ruby is survived by her sons, Wayne Chafin of Savannah, Wyman "Rickey" Brown of Bulloch County; daughters, Winnie Walker and Sue Brown both of Savannah; grandchildren, Randall Williams, April and Jamie Burnsed, Jill and Jay Walker, Robin Steed, Wyman, Jr. and Kirk Brown; 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home with Rev.
