Ruby Smith Davis, age 88, widow of Sewell T. Davis, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 25, 2004.She was a daughter of the late Silas P. and Sophie Sanford Smith. Surviving are three sons, Marvin Smith of Gaffney, Thomas and Frances Hall of Greenville, and Charles and Dorothy Hall of Greenville; two daughters, Betty Abercrombie of Conestee, and Rachel and Morris Bible of Walhalla. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Carrie Reed of Piedmont. She was predeceased by one son, James R. Dempsey; four sisters and five brothers.A visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28 at New Life Baptist Church, 2690 Blue Ridge Dr., Greenville, SC 29611. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM at the church. Burial will be at Wood Memorial Park, Greer. Palmetto Funeral Service is serving the Davis family.
