GIBSON, Ga.-Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruby Amerson Johnson, 88, of Gibson, Georgia, who died January 6, 2005, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home. Dr. William L. Owens and Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Mitchell, Georgia, a life-long resident of the Belvedere-Augusta area having made Gibson her home for the past two years. She was a faithful member and active worker in the Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and retired from the lunch room at Sego Middle School. Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late Mr. Fleming F. Johnson and mother of the late Sgt. Bobby A. Johnson, USMC, Ret. Survivors include three daughters, Frankie Simms, North Augusta, Faye Blankenship, Candler, NC and Carol Hett, Graniteville; two sisters, Annie Amerson Wilder, Belvedere and Jean Amerson Whitaker, Statesboro, GA; nine grandchildren and several great grandchild ren. Pallbearers will be Wendell Amerson, Billy Smith, Stan Wilder, Michael Wilder, Jeff Hadden and Ted Flanders. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 6 to 8. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Frankie Simms, 226 Walnut Street, North Augusta, S.C. Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home of North Augusta in charge of arrangements (803-278-1181).
