Memorial service for Roy Harold Owens, 79, of Alexandria will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 p.m. until service. Mr. Owens passed away Sunday at Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City. Mr. Owens is survived by his wife Dale Owens, of Alexandria; son, Dwayne Owens; stepson, Johnny Buse; step-daughter, Cher Buse Dulaney; a sister Melba Cate; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mr. Owens is preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Alma Owens, a daughter Cindy Street and four sisters. Mr. Owens was a native of Alexandria. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War, retired from Naval Reserve and Goodyear Tire and Rubber and a lifetime member of VFW Post 924 and past Commander of Post 924. Online condolences www.
