Funeral service for Rosie Lee Carter, 85, (formerly of Anniston) will be on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Greater Thankful Baptist Church where Pastor Byron Jackson, officiating, the Rev. Roger Montgomery, eulogist. Interment will follow in New Hope Church Cemetery, Bynum. Mrs. Carter passed away on February 19, 2015. Mrs. Carter's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to her service. Mrs. Carter was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church and served as Church Mother. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Cornelius, Alberta (Lee) Moore, Jean Siders, of Detroit, Mich., Donna (Charles) Lowe, of Midland, Ga., Berysce Carter of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Billy (Rosemary) Stokes; 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; in-laws, Rosemary Stokes, of Anniston, Emma Stokes, of Columbus, Ga., other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Sr. and Ethel Stokes; her husband, J.V. "Bill" Carter; children, Gwendolyn Carter, Levertis "Huck" Carter, Willie "Bug" Harris and Ladrester Spigner.
