Rosetta Katherine Hines-Johnson, 77, died April 10, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. She was born in Sopchoppy, and had been a longtime resident of St. Lucie County. She attended the public schools of St. Lucie County and was a graduate of Lincoln Park Academy, Class of 1951. She was retired from the food service business as a dietitian. She was a member of Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as a church usher and served the Prince Hall Masonic family for more than 50 years with no break in service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Heroines of Jericho, Lady Knight Crusaders and Order of the Golden Circle. She was a Daughter of Isis in the Shriners, and a daughter of the Elks Lodge. Survivors include her sons, Willie Whitney of Lakeland and Charles Udell of Fort Pierce; daughters, Cynthia Richardson, Faye Owens and Brenda Washington Glenn, all of Fort Pierce; brothers, Frank Hines Jr., Ernest Porter and Joseph Laster, all of Fort Pierce; sisters, Elnora Reed of Fort Pierce and Shirley Hines Atkins of Sebastian; 20 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter "Bo" Johnson Jr.; son, Walter Johnson III; brothers, Hardie Hines Sr. and Charles Hines; and sisters, Catherine Killings, Louise Williams, Maggie Coleman, Katie Jackson and Annie Lee Jenkins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hines Family Scholarship Fund, c/o Mary Nelson, 134 Kathy Ann Drive, Crawfordville, FL 32327. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. April 15 with Masonic family services to follow at East Florida Primitive Baptist Association Temple. The funeral will be at noon April 16 at East Florida Primitive Baptist Association Temple in Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fort Pierce.
