Rose E. Peters Portage Rose E. Peters, age 79 of Portage, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Rose was born in Gary, IN on March 15, 1925 to the late Irving Preston and Grace Walsh. She is survived by one son, Charles Peters of Portage; one daughter, Carol (William) Berquist of Valparaiso; brother-in-law, John O'Keefe, Jr. of Hammond; niece, Kathleen Meinert of Freedom, IN; nephew, David Deiotte of Hammond and lifetime friend, Margaret Crandall of CA. Preceded in death by husband, Carl Peters; sister, Kathleen O'Keefe and nephew, John O'Keefe III. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Nativity of Our Savior Parish, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage with Father Jim Wozniak officiating. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be Friday, February 18, 2005 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church in Portage. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
