Rose Mary (nee: Hyland) Miller, 81, of Schenectady, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Born in Schenectady on January 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Rosella (nee: Livingston) Hyland. She was raised and educated in the local area and attended Schenectady schools. She was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church. She managed the cafeteria at Schenectady County Court House until going to work for the New York State Department of General Services until her retirement. After retirement, Rose Mary worked, until most recently, for Catholic Charities in Schenectady. She was a member of the LAOH in Schenectady, VFW Post 357, The Red Hat Society, and St. Paul's Seniors. In addition to her parents, Rose Mary was predeceased by a son, Patrick Miller; her brothers, Arthur, Robert and Francis Hyland; and her sisters, Marjorie Esposito, Shirley Hyland and Jane Schaffer. She is survived by four sons, Charles (Linda) Miller of Schenectady, Michael (Connie) Miller of FL, Gary and Gregg Miller, both of CT; grandchildren, Melissa, Sarah, Joshua and Jeaneen; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Skyler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:15 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. to be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
