YORK Rose Marie Ware Arrington, age 83, of York, died April 12, 2008. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James' Episcopal Church in Livingston. Burial will follow in York City Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home of York directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at her daughter's home at 11256 Hwy. 17 South in York.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jud Killian Arrington, Jr., and her brothers, George Leatherberry Ware and Henry Long Ware.Survivors include her son, William Meek Arrington and his wife, Lee, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her daughter, Judith Arrington Matlock and her husband, John, of York; and her brother, Thomas Meek Ware and his wife, Edith, of Gulf Shores. She was a loving grandmother to John Judson Matlock and his wife, Meredith, of Jackson, Miss., Joanna Matlock Ames and her husband, David, of Montgomery, James Compton Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Thomas Judson Compton Arrington of Columbus, Ohio. She was blessed with two great grandchildren, Ella Marie Matlock and Rose Mary Matlock of Jackson, Miss.Mrs. Arrington enjoyed a distinguished career at the Bank of York, and was an accomplished seamstress and a devoted member of St. James' Episcopal Church. Rose Marie was a true Southern lady. Throughout her life she carried herself with grace and dignity and was a shining example of Christian love to all those who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be Greg Campbell, Allison Derby, Tommy Luke, Gray Patrenos, Bob Taylor, and Roy Underwood.Honorary pallbearers are Ad Boyd, Jimmy Collins, Berry Green-Burns, Buddy Hunt, Joe Moore, Charles Munoz, and Rayford Noland.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. James' Episcopal Church or Sumter Academy.
