SMITH, Rose Marie(nee: Laflamme)February 15, 1925 – December 23, 2013With sadness, the family of Rose Marie Smith announces her passing on December 23, 2013.Rose Marie was born in Wales, Ontario, to Henri and Albertha Laflamme and moved to Edmonton in 1949, where she met and married Australian expat Bert Smith and where they lived and had five daughters. Mom and Dad lived gracious and giving lives, always willing to invite someone in and always with an extra chair at the table.Rose Marie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Helena, Dawn, and Elizabeth; grandsons, Bennet, Devin, Christopher (Charlene), and Thomas (Tenneil); and great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Jaxon.Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband, Bert; daughters, Mary and Caren; parents, Henri and Albertha; brothers, Foch and Mat; and sister, Fran. She also leaves many good friends, especially those of the Rosary group, and the members of the Catholic Women's League, of which she was a member for almost 70 years.The family would like to thank South Terrace Continuing Care Centre for their excellent care of Mom in her final weeks.A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.
