LEAVENWORTH MARTIN, ROSE MARIE, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, IN. She was born on April 10, 1931 in Kanawha County, WV, the daughter of Walter and Frances Young Garrett. She was a registered nurse for St. Joseph Hospital and then Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville until 1986 and she was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Corydon, IN. She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Martin Jr., of Leavenworth; three sons, Mark Martin (Angie) of Milford, OH, Charlie Martin (Anita) of Louisville, and David Martin (Mary Ann), of Rockwood, MI; one daughter, Susan Marie Atwell (Scott), of Louisville; one sister, Ann Ellison of Elko, NV; eight grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Corydon on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Father Dan Atkins will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation will be held at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon on Tuesday , 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. There will be a Rosary service held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
