MEIER, Rose (Rosie) Rosie passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Thursday, August 21, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband Eric (2005); and daughter-in-law Shanon (2011). Mom's memory will be lovingly cherished by her four children Marlene Reiger, Shirley (Don) Silzer, Marianne (Leonard) Wolfe and Terry Meier; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was born on March 4, 1922 to William and Katherine Bernt. She married Dad on May 1, 1943 and they purchased the family farm in the Avonhurst district in 1949. Mom took great pride and love in providing for her family through her baking, sewing and canning. She enjoyed spending endless hours in her vegetable and flower gardens. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mom was a great inspiration to all who knew her. At mom's request a private family service will be held. Thank you to the staff on Units 4C and 3D at the Pasqua Hospital and Dr. S. Datta for all their care and compassion.
