Rose Henderson, born in 1917, spouse of Thomas-Boyd Henderson, daughter of George and Zehia-Barkett, mother of L. Robert, died on February 24, 2004 at 87 years old.
Rose Joseph Henderson, 87, of 1326 E. Washington St., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at the home of her daughter. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late George J. and Zehia Barkett Joseph and was the wife of the late Thomas Boyd Henderson. Mrs. Henderson was owner and operator of Henderson's Market. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. L. Robert (Sherrill) Howayeck, of Greenville; two grandsons, Rob Howayeck, of Atlanta, and Kenney Howayeck, of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. John I (Louise) Hill, of Greenville; and a brother, Robert Joseph, of Greenville. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation to follow until 8:30. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rite of committal will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 111 Hampton Ave., Greenville, SC 29601; or to the Monastery of St. Claire, 1916 N. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. The family will be at the daughter's home: 227 E. Seven Oaks Drive, Greenville, SC 29605.
