Rose (Allie) Demers, 95, South Windsor, formerly of East Hartford for over 60 years, passed away peacefully Wednesday, (November 16, 2005) at Manchester Memorial Hospital of old age. She was born on September 10, 1910 in Fall River, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Ralph Demers; five sisters; three brothers; and two grandchildren. Rose was a devoted homemaker and a Travelers Insurance Company retiree. Rose was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Church, South Windsor. She loved her family and friends and the winters she spent in Florida. She leaves her children, Robert Demers of South Windsor, Pauline and her husband, Desmond Nolan of Deerfield IL, Jeanette and her husband, Anthony Lucente of Glen Ellyn, IL, Lorraine Timko of East Hartford, and Mary Rose and her husband, Marcel Albert of Stoddard, NH; a sister, Theresa Macomber in North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandson. Family and friends may gather, Saturday, 9:15 a.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford, will be private. Her family will receive friends, Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home.
