Rosalie Betty Ross, 81BIDDEFORD - Rosalie Betty Ross, 81, of Alfred St., Biddeford, died early Tuesday morning, Aug. 9, 2005 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford. She was born in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Leo and Lenore Traxler Brown. Rosalie graduated from Central High School in Detroit and attended Albion College in Albion, Mich. Mrs. Ross was the manager of F. O. Goldthwaite, Inc. in Biddeford Pool for many years. 'Rowie,' as she was known to her family and friends, enjoyed playing Bridge and was a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She was also an avid reader.Survivors include two sons, David Ross of Weymouth, Mass., and Stuart Ross of Guilford, Conn.; a daughter, Elizabeth Withnell of Rockville, Md.; a sister, Leslye Small of Biddeford Pool; nine grandchildren; two nieces; and a nephew. A private burial service will be held at Hope Memorial Cemetery in Kennebunk. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Union Church, Biddeford Pool.Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco, are in charge of the arrangements.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Rowie's name be made to support Lifeline, a program that enables senior citizens to remain in their own homes, and the Hospital Building Expansion Fund:The Southern Maine Medical Center P.
