Rosa Smith, born in 1921, spouse of Clyde Smith, daughter of Sloan and Viola-Roach, mother of Doris Genelia, Kathy, Crenda, Opal, Myra Joyce, Hayward and Aaron, died on December 23, 2003 at 82 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Rosa Bell Suttles Smith, age 82, of 145 Little Choestoea Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Lila Doyle Nursing Center. Born on May 5, 1921, in Oconee County, she was a seamstress. She was a member of Walhalla Holiness Church, where she was the Adult Sunday School teacher and also sang in a quartet. Survivors include sons, Aaron Smith and Hayward Smith; daughters, Myra Joyce Myers, Opal Taylor, Crenda Ramey and Kathy Cromer; brothers, Lewis and Lloyd Suttles; sisters, Christine Lee and Pauline Kelly; sixteen grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Clyde Smith; her parents, Sloan and Viola Roach Suttles; a daughter, Doris Genelia McGinnis; brothers, Buford and Ralph Suttles; a sister, Carrie Long; and grandchildren, Rena Capps, Robert Bradley, and Audrey Janney. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, in the chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, with the Revs. Olin Nicholson and Willie Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, before the service, at Sandifer Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted.
