Funeral service for Rosa Lee Harris, 65, West Ohio Avenue, DeLand, who peacefully entered the sunset of life during her sleep Monday, February 27, 2006, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 921 South Parsons Avenue, DeLand, with Pastor Walter Hendix officiating. Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery DeLand. The visitation hours are from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Friday), at Unity Funeral Home. Rosa, the widow of Mr. Lewis Harris, was born in South Carolina to Mr. James, Sr. and Hattie Hudson, and lived in DeLand for thirty-eight years where she worked diligently as a Para professional at Boston Avenue School retiring in 2003 after rendering twenty-two years of dedicated service. Rosa loved spending her leisure time fishing, sewing and visiting the flea market when she wasn't serving faithfully as Usher President and Willing Workers at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in DeLand. Sister Rosa Lee Harris' legacy will live forever in the hearts of those who loved and honored her including her very devoted friend, Joseph Beamon, Osteen; devoted son, Timmie (Dawn) Hudson, Sr., Hartsville, S.C.; loving daughter, Sharion (Anthony) Da'Costa, Orlando; five grandchildren, Karson James, Darlington, S.C., Glonekia (Leland) Simms, Daytona Beach, Mario (Natalie) Hudson, Oates, S.C., Michael (Janette) Harris, Orlando, Timmie, Jr., Darlington, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Alisha, Jalecia, and Kaywom James, South Carolina, Devon Sims, Daytona Beach, and Nadiyah Harris, Orlando; five sisters, Rosa Mae DeMonia, Orlando, Daisy Bell (Robert) Ward, South Carolina, Juanita (Clifton) Bess, and Lucille (Pearly) Gales, Jr., Lamar, S.C., Dora Mae Jones, Columbia, S.C.; five brothers, James (Dorothy) Hudson, Jr., Timmonsville, S.C., Woodrow (Brenda) Hudson, Spartanburg, S.C., Rev. John Henry (Lula Bell) Hudson, Wil1iam (Francis) Hudson, and Curtis Lee (Mac) Hudson, Lamar, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
