Obituary of Rosa-Lee Carter

Rosa Lee Carter - SAVANNAH - Rosa Lee Carter, 83, passed away at her Savannah home on August 10, 2009. Rosa was born in Savannah on March 18, 1926 to the late Joseph and Lillian Carter. She retired after over 27 years of working with Derst Bakery, and was a member of South Newington Baptist Church for over 30 years. She loved to work in her yard, and was a gentle and loving Christian woman. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Ernest E. Carter, Sr., 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her sons Ernest "Tommy" Carter Jr. (Cheryl) of Guyton, Charles Michael Carter Sr. (Debbie) and Steven Carter (Donna) of Midway, daughter Shirley Iott of Savannah, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Thursday with burial to follow at Brickyard Cemetery.
