GORDO Ronnie Paul Simmons, age 66, of Gordo, died Dec. 27, 2011, at home. Services will be 3 p.m. today, Dec. 29, 2011, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Carpenter, and his son, Aaron Simmons.Survivors include his mother, Mary Carpenter of Gordo, Ala.; daughter, Brittany Simmons of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, Anthony Paul Simmons (Erica) of Fayette, Ala.; sisters, Brenda Pullen (Roy) of Gordo, Ala. and Charolette Peeks (Jody) of Reform, Ala.; and two grandchildren, Asia and Riley Simmons.Mr. Simmons was born April 12, 1945, in Pickens County, Alabama. He was a member of the Baptist faith, a retired auto mechanic, and a life long resident of Pickens County.
