Roger-Lynn Wilson, spouse of Josephine-McDonald Wilson, son of James and Clara, father of Tonya, Christopher and Michael Shane, died on March 25, 2012.
Oxford - Memorial services for Roger Lynn Wilson, of Oxford, will be today, March 25, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Word Alive International Outreach in Coldwater. The Rev. Dan Maddox and the Rev. Kent Maddox will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church this afternoon from 3 until 4 p.m. The family requests no flowers. Roger departed this life Friday, March 23, 2012, at home to begin his new life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A native and life long resident of Oxford, he had been a heavy equipment operator for many years working all across the Southeast. He retired from the City of Oxford in January of 2011. He was a member of Word Alive International Outreach in Coldwater. Roger was a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He also was an Alabama football fan, NASCAR racing fan and he loved to go camping and fishing with his family and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara Wilson, of Oxford. Roger is survived by his wife, Josephine McDonald Wilson; one daughter, Tonya Powers (Buddy); two sons, Christopher Wilson, and Michael Shane McDonald (Stephanie); one sister, Opaline Brimer (Clarence); five grandchildren, Cheyenne and Dakota Lynn Powers, Michael Blake, Morgan Edward and Austin Tate McDonald and several nieces, nephews and an abundance of friends. Many thanks to Dr. Spremulli and staff at Anniston Oncology and all the fourth floor Oncology at Regional Medical Center.
