Roberta Anne Lacroix 11/28/1950 - 08/26/2007 HANNAWA FALLS, NY - Roberta Anne LaCroix died at her home in Hannawa Falls on Sunday, August 26, 2007, after a lengthy illness and under the loving care of her husband, Robert, and Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. Mrs. LaCroix was born November 28, 1950 in Putnam, CT to Maurice and Evelyn Esther Hooker LaBranche. She was a descendant of General Hooker who fought in the Civil War. She was a graduate of Putnam High School. She married Robert W. LaCroix on September 26, 1970 at St. Mary of the Visitation Church in Putnam. Mrs. LaCroix was a former employee of the American Optical Co., Rose's Hair Salon in Putnam, the Marriott Corp., and also owner of Bobbie's Cleaning Service. She and her husband lived in Woodstock for many years prior to moving to Potsdam, NY in 1998. Roberta enjoyed growing orchids, gardening, knitting and crafts, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Gouverneur Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, State of New York. She was also an avid sports fan and loved to go fishing with her husband who she was devoted to. Survivors include her husband, Robert W. LaCroix of Hannawa Falls, NY; her brother Ronald and his wife Olga LaBranche of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Rosen of Gouverneur, NY and Mrs. Elaine Currier of Danielson, CT. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews that she cared for very much. She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Janice Razska; and by two nephews. She will be sadly missed by her and Robert's family and all the many good friends she had. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam, N.Y. The Rev. Ann Marsh of Canton Unitarian Universalist Church officiated at a Remembrance Service with family and friends. Friends and family may make donations in her memory to the Colton Volunteer Rescue Squad of Colton, NY or to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Inc., 6805 U.S. Highway 11, Potsdam, New York, 13676. Seymour Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and cremation.
