GOODWIN Robert "Bob" Woods Goodwin (80) was born in Attleboro, MA to William Joseph and Doris Woods Goodwin on Nov. 18, 1930. Bob's values were established early through the Boy Scouts, achieving Eagle Scout and Assistant Scout Leader status. He knew he wanted to fly and serve his country so he attended Brown University on a NROTC scholarship and became an accomplished Naval Aviator. Following his Naval career he owned/operated Association Insurance Management (AIM) for over 30 years. In addition to being a family man, Bob was a 43 year member of Riverside Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, chaired various committees, and was involved in Tradition House and the Friday Morning Men's Group. He was also active in The Masons, Shriners, West Jax Rotary Club, Florida Yacht Club, Hibernians, YMCA, and was a charter member of the Jax Hanger of QB's (Quiet Birdmen). Bob was passionate about antique cars, the Blue Angels, Red Sox, Gators and his family. As a result of long-term post-polio complications, he passed away at St. Vincent's December 10th. He was predeceased by first wife Patricia Louther Goodwin and daughter Cynthia Brooke Goodwin Edwards. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Marlene N. Goodwin, daughter Leslie Crisp (Dale), son Gregg Goodwin (Genna), sister Patricia Goodwin White, grandsons Kyle and Kevin Crisp, step-children Thomas Sandlin, Jr (Rachel), Anne Wolfe (Ned), Leigh Bishop (Daniel), step grandchildren Julia and Benjamin Sandlin, Evan Deen, Drew, Daniel and Eric Wolfe, one niece, two nephews, two grand nephews and one grand niece. A Memorial Service will be held Friday the 17th at 12:00 pm at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 849 Park Street. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions in Bob's honor to Riverside Presbyterian Church or Day School (RPDS).
