de Haan, Robert Wayne Robert Wayne de Haan passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at age 56 years. He was born 1 January 1950 in New Westminster, B.C. to John and Nellie de Haan. Bob of Edmonton Maytag, will be remembered for his membership and active participation in Car Buffs of Edmonton and the 124th Street & Area Business Association, many will remember his eccentricities, his pink airplane, his collection of cars (especially the red shiny ones), his wildly colorful shoes, and all things dutch. Bob will also be remembered for being the recipient of a Silver Bravery Award presented by Lieutenant-Governor Helen Hunley and having a park bench in the 124th Street Businesses & Revitalization Zone named in his honour. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Kim; sister-in-law Lenette of Edmonton; father-in-law Dolf and his wife Fran of Edmonton; son Shawn; his partner Shannon and granddaughter Mackenna of Surrey, B.C.; daughter Tara; her fiance Bill and granddaughter Ashleigh of St. Albert; sister Shirley and her husband Gene of Atlanta, Georgia; brother Billy and his wife Sally of Abbotsford, B.C.; brother Maurice and his wife Heather of Edmonton; sister-in-law Donna of Dawson Creek, B.C.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob is predeceased by his father John; mother Nellie; brother Mervin; and mother-in-law Toos. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, acquaintances, business partners and loyal maytag customers. Celebration of Bob's life will be held at Riverbend United Church on Monday, January 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Bill Cantelon, officiating. If desired, in lieu of posies, donations to either the Kidney Foundation of Canada, #101 - 10642 - 178 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5S 1H4 or to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2, would be greatly appreciated. Just remember, Bob's looking down on you!!
