WALL, Robert Edmund1926 - 2017Bob was born in Vancouver in May, 1926, to parents Edith and George Wall and passed away in March, 2017. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Cudmore, and his brother, John Douglas Wall. He is survived by his loving family – his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; his sons Robert Brian (Joyce), and Douglas John (Lisa); his daughter Elizabeth Anne Watson (Ian); his eight grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Vassel (Ryan), Carlene Wishart (Colton), Victoria Mejia (Alejandro), Lindsey, Allison and Graham Wall and Kelsey and Robbie Watson. An added joy to his life were his four great-grandchildren, Kalia, Sophia, Hanalei and Sebastian. Bob enjoyed a forty-year career with Honeywell as a Sales Engineer, designing and cost estimating temperature control systems for the commercial market. Never one to just sit around, he single- handedly built the cottage on Gambier Island, which was rarely empty on weekends in the early years. In retirement he traded the cottage for a sailboat and in the following years, he and Dorothy traversed the BC coast in the Windbourne II with some hair-raising tales to relate. He recently received his sixty- year membership credentials from the West Vancouver Yacht Club. Music, and more particularly singing, were a huge part of Bob''s life. In 1965 the Model T Four quartet was formed with fellow harmonizers Gordon, Abie and Wayne, and continued for decades. Bob was immensely proud of his BC lineage – his great-grandfather arrived in Victoria in 1858 from County Waterford, Ireland, to become a Factor for the Hudson''s Bay Co. and his father, George, was a young participant of the Klondike Gold Rush. Bob was in good health until the onset of Vascular Dementia three years ago at which time he moved into Hollyburn House. His condition worsened recently with two cardiac events and he passed away at Lions Gate Hospital with his children beside him. We loved him and we miss him. He knew this.
