Robert W. Sullivan of Upper Montclair, N.J., passed away on April 20, 2014, at the Milstein Heart Center of New York Presbyterian Hospital. The funeral is from the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home, 76 Park Street, Montclair, N.J., on Friday at 9:30 a.m., then to St. Cassian Church, 187 Bellevue Avenue where at 10:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Born in Keene, N.H., Robert was the son of the late Edward and Margaret Sullivan. He had lived in Montclair for 42 years. He graduated from Keene High School in 1957, and Dartmouth College in 1961, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated with a B.A. in history and later earned an M.B.A. from Rutgers University. He served in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps from 1961 to 1964 in LaRochelle, France. Bob, or Sully as he was known to his friends, was a longtime member of the Montclair Golf Club. He was also a member of the Orleans Yacht Club and the Mercier Club. He was a parishioner of St. Cassian Church. He was a national sales manager for Allied Signal and Weldeton Corp. early in his career in the plastics, flexible packaging, and aerospace industries. He was vice president of sales and marketing for Allied Apical, Lifelines Technology, and the Loveshaw Corp. In retirement, he founded HP Solutions, his own consulting firm. Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcy; daughter, Morgen and son-in-law, Michael Collis; a brother, Edward; sister-in-law, Elizabeth; a nephew, Michael, and two nieces, Marnie Renda (Chris) and Katherine Saunders (Matthew). He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel. In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness in his memory.
