Robert-Timothy Wilson, spouse of Patricia Wilson, son of Anne, father of Angela and Nikolas, died on December 17, 2001 at 49 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
The family of Robert Wilson wish to announce his passing from Mesothelioma (cancer) on December 17, 2001 at home. At peace with himself and with all that surrounded him at the age of 49. Survived by his mother Anne Wilson (England), sister Dorothy Connett and family (England). Sadly missed by his loving companion and best friend Wendy Hughes. His dearly loved children Angela (19) and Nikolas (13) and their mother Patricia. As well Evan, Erika and Eden Hughes. Bob was born in Rochdale, England and moved to Canada in 1974. Being a Licensed Plumber he continued to work in the trade and met many a "good friend" within the construction industry. Throughout his time with us Bob would also be involved with other business. He co-owned R & R Trophies and Sports and also ran a Limousine company. In the recent years he operated his own plumbing business and was content in doing this. Bob was also very active within sports and judo was one of his favourite past times. He achieved a black belt (2nd) and won many tournaments both in Canada and the UK. Bob's main love was soccer (except for Coronation St.) and has been a supporter of Manchester United for 40 plus years. Bob was a member of the Royal Soccer Club as both a player and premier league coach. As everyone will know he always gave 100% and expected the same from all. During the last couple of years Bob has coached the Kanata Goaldiggers (Ladies over 35) and enjoyed the change of pace and challenge (also the ladies legs are nicer to watch). Family will receive friends on Friday, December 21st at the Pinecrest Cemetery Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa) from 5-7 pm. A celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at the Pinecrest Cemetery Chapel at 1 pm. A Reception to follow. Many thanks to Dr. V. Hurdan for her endless work and expert care given to Bob during his illness and to the Hospice at May Court day program caregivers who provided Bob with comfort and care during his visits with them. To all at the West Carleton Secondary School, Kanata Goaldiggers, Ottawa Royals, family and friends for their support and generosity through the difficult times. In Memory of Bob donations to the Hospice at May Court would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately all these "good ol days" are now passed and Bob has moved on and as he was heard to say time and time again "Cheers" The Ottawa Citizen, Dec. 21, 2001
