Obituary of Robert-Thomas Sharp


Dr. Robert Thomas. Died peacefully in the presence of his family on October 1, 2001. Dad was born on August 13, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine, and is survived by his children Susan (Roger) of Baltimore, Joan of Vancouver, Ted (Sheila) of Toronto, Doug (Branislava) of Palo Alto and his grandchildren Yusef and Yasmin, Matthew, Sam and Katie, and Slater and Cassandra. Dad was a pilot with the RCAF during WWII. He attended McGill University after the war. He was MacDonald Professor of Physics at McGill until his retirement, when he became a Professor Emeritus. After a major stroke in 1999, Dad lived at the Central Park Lodge in Toronto. We thank the staff at CPL for their gentle care. A memorial service will be held in the Music Room at Hart House, University of Toronto, at 11 a.m. October 4, 2001. A reception will follow.
