Robert T. "Bob" Johnson of Harpursville Robert T. "Bob" Johnson, our husband and father, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007. He was born September 17, 1917 at Rattlesnake Creek near Hancock, N.Y. Bob is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 68 years, Ruth Mae Johnson; loving children, Kermit and Daris Johnson, Silvana, Wash., and Hilo, Hawaii, David W. Johnson, Rainbow Lake, N.Y., and Marjorie Anne Johnson, Vestal. He leaves behind five treasured grandchildren, Sonya and Robert Madson, Menlo Park, Calif., Randy and Wei Johnson, Houston, Tex., Shelley Barrows and Shawn Kroposki, Franklin, N.J., Leah Barrows-Jones, Endicott, Robin Johnson, Rainbow Lake, N.Y.; and eight cherished great-grandchildren. Bob was a lifelong steward of the land. He spent 25 years as a farmer, first in Berkshire, later in Sanitaria Springs, and finally at the top of Belden Hill in Harpursville. He then became a representative of May Brothers Realty, selling rural and farm properties throughout Central New York. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to the Nature Conservancy, Attn: Treasury, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, Va. 22203.
