Robert T. "Giz" Garvey of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester, died suddenly Aug. 10, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Connolly); loving father of Donna and her husband Dan Stock of Quincy, Robert T. Garvey Jr. of Dorchester and the late Barbara Murphy of Weymouth; devoted brother of Edward and his wife Dottie Garvey, Rose "Rae" Manning and the late William H. Garvey, Helen Bowers and Doris Ryerson. Also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was a former member of the John P. McKeon Post 146 AMVETS and the Furnace Brook Golf Club. Visiting hours in the John J. O'Connor & Son Funeral Home, 740 Adams St. (near Gallivan Blvd.), Dorchester, Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Neponset, Friday morning at 10 O'clock.
