Robert S. White Pittsfield, MARobert S. White, 90, of Lucia Drive in Pittsfield, MA, passed away February 25, 2012 at Mt. Greylock Nursing Home, Pittsfield, MA. Born May 15, 1921 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Victor A. and Irene J. White. He attended schools in Schenectady, NY and then went on to Union College, graduating in 1944. He joined the U.S. Army as a T4 instructor with Afwespac (Armed Forces Western Pacific (Manilia)). He served as an instructor in the Morse Code Radio Communications program. After the Army, Robert then went on to work for General Electric Co. in Schenectady, NY, Utica, NY and in Pittsfield; he retired May 28, 1983 from the Pittsfield Ordnance Plant where he was a material repair and disposition planner. He was a member of the I.E.E.E. Electrical Engineer's Society. Robert leaves his beloved wife, Ruth Clark; they were married May 28, 1949 in Scotia, NY, at the United Methodist Church. In accordance to family wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be at a later date at the family plot in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Albany, NY.
