Obituary of Robert-Roy Waters


Robert Roy Waters, 68, of 100 Pelham Road, died Wednesday afternoon at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas Waters and Lorene Waters Clontz. He retired from Morton International, formerly Polymer Industries, and was a member of Leawood Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Nora June Flowers Waters, of the home; two sons, Tommy Waters of the home, and Doug Waters and his wife Jennifer, of Easley; one sister, Ruth Cook and her husband Clyde, of Morganton, N.C.; one brother, W.J. Waters and his wife Carol, of Myrtle Beach; a half sister, Willa Mae Hall, of Brevard, N.C.; sisters-in-law, Libby Rector and her husband David, and Jewell Murphy, all of Valdese, N.C.; three grandchildren, Christopher Waters, Taylor Waters and Davis Waters; and 17 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at Leawood Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Billy King and Dr. Clarence Freeman. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today, at The Howze Mortuary, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to Banner Fund of Leawood Baptist Church, 401 State Park Road, Greenville, SC 29690. The family will be at the home of Doug and Jennifer Waters, 102 Ansel Court, Easley, SC 29642. - The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
