LEE Robert R. Lee, 82, born October 22, 1923 in Forrest County, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 in Orange Park, FL. He was raised at the Lee Farm in Petal, Mississippi and as soon as his age afforded him the opportunity, he volunteered to serve in the US Navy. He became a decorated war hero throughout the course of WWII. During his time in the enlisted force, he climbed the chain of command, reaching the highest rank and honor in the enlisted core, becoming an E-9. He later became a Maverick when he was commissioned as an officer in the Navy. After his military career, he became a 32degree Mason, holding the position of Wise Master (K.C.C.H) in the Masonic Lodge and very active in the Boy Scouts. He was also deacon for 25 years at First Baptist Church of Orange Park. He and Madlin Moore brought the first food closet to Orange Park displaying his charitable side. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Lee; daughter, Sandra Lee; two sons, Gordon and Donald Lee; grandchildren, Geoffrey Green, Justin T. Lee, and Katherine Lee. He has been reunited with his son, Robert W. Lee in heaven. He was a child of God, patriot of America, a pillar of the community, and a founding father of charity in Orange Park, FL. Funeral services in celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2005 at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in the Garden of Apostles at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2005 at the address above.
