Robert-P. Johnson, born in 1954, son of James, died on April 3, 2008 at 54 years old.
Robert P. Johnson, 54, Kumquat Drive, Edgewater, died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. Mr. Johnson, a member of the Marine Corps infantry during the Vietnam War, was born in LaPlata, Md. and moved to Edgewater in 1978 from Port St. Lucie. He enjoyed listening to the radio; playing cards and meeting and making new friends. Survivors include his stepmother, Rose M. Johnson, Edgewater; three brothers, Wayne and Wesley Johnson, both of Edgewater, and Ralph Johnson, Waldorf, Md.; three sisters, Linda Warren and JoAnne Gualtieri, both of Edgewater, and Rhonda Denys, Port Orange; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. "Andy" Johnson, and a sister, Wendy Simmons. Graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 7, in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Pastor Rick Carrillo, Rock Church of Port Orange, will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by members of the American Legion Post #285, Edgewater. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Dudley Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
