Robert M. Parker Jr., 66WINDHAM - Robert M. Parker Jr., 66, of Pope Road, died Aug. 24, 2005 at a Portland hospital.He was born in Gorham on Aug. 15, 1939, the son of Robert M. and Effie M. (Dolloff) Parker Sr. Moving to Windham at an early age; he was raised and educated in Windham.For seven years, Bob was employed at the former Monmouth Canning Company, of Portland before going to work for the Burnham & Morrill Company, of Portland. He retired from B & M in 2001 after 34 years of service.He was a member of the Maine Wood Carver's Association, the Windham Wheelers ATV Association, the Standish/Gorham ATV Association and was a former member of the Moose Lodge in South Portland.An avid hunter, he enjoyed bow, rifle and muzzle loader hunting as well as boating, fishing, camping, gardening, riding his ATV and just about any outdoor activity. Fly tying, wood carving and cooking, with secret ingredients for his family, were also among his interest. However, time spent with his children, grandchildren and his dogs was especially important to him. Besides his parents, two sisters, Edna M. Parker Richard and Shirley Tripp have predeceased him.Surviving are his wife, Sally E. Hartford Parker of Windham; a son, Robert M. Parker III and his wife Linda of Standish; two daughters, Theresa M. Parker Mannette and her husband Scott of Windham, and Mary R. Parker MacDonald and her husband Philip Jr. of Windham; three brothers, Kenneth S. Parker of Windham, Charlie N. Parker of Oklahoma, and Donald E. Parker Sr. of Windham; a sister, Thelma Parker Myrick of Windham; four grandchildren, Alan Farris Jr., Benjamin Coffin, Jessica Young, and Emily MacDonald, all of Windham; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 2-4 p.m. at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Road, Windham, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday.
