JOHNSON, Robert M. Age 81, of Elcor Health Services in Horseheads, NY, formerly of Coopers Plains and Hornby, NY, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Robert was born in Corning, NY on June 3, 1927 to Victor and Grace (Whitney) Johnson. He married Jannabelle Harvey in 1949 in Coraopolis, PA. He had been employed as a machinist by Dresser-Rand (Ingersoll-Rand) in Painted Post for over 35 years until his retirement in 1989. He served in the United States Army (1945-1948), and in the Air Force (1948-1950). He is survived by his wife, Jannabelle; two daughters, Sharon Johnson of Campbell, and Sandra Weber of Lansdale, PA; four sons, Robert Johnson, Jr. of Rochester, NY, Ronald Johnson of Acron, OH, Darell Johnson of Campbell, and Wayne Johnson of Wayland, NY; one brother, Walter (Carolyn) Johnson of Penn Yan, NY; sister-in-law, Marleah Johnson of Hornby; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his son, David Johnson; three brothers, Richard, William, and Victor Johnson; a sister, Grace. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 13th, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning, where Funeral Services will follow calling hours at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in Central Valley Cemetery in Hornby.
