Robert M. Johnson of Vestal Robert M. Johnson, 89, of Vestal, died at his residence after a short illness on Thursday, September 23, 2010. Predeceased by his wife, Florence P. Johnson; a brother, Kenneth Johnson; and a sister, Harriet Larson. Survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Tom Oziemina, Appalachin, Lisa and Mike Blance, Port Crane; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Pam Johnson, Madison, IN; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was a retired Burrough's Corporation employee, retiring after 33 years of service. The greatest father and grandfather who was loved by all, a WW II veteran in 212th Company 5th Marine Division, serving as a sharp shooter rifleman in Iwojima, Japan, Inuwetok and Hawaii. He enjoyed his summers at Owasco Lake. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings fan. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronald Harris and his staff, the Lourde's Health Support and Lourde's Hospice for the wonderful care given to Robert. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 6pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, the Rev. George Hanssen will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Elma, NY. The family will receive friends at the memorial home Sunday, 4pm until service time at 6pm.
