-> Robert Lewis Jackson, 97, died Friday, June 13, 2003, in the Evans Memorial Hospital, Claxton. Mr. Jackson was a native of Bulloch County, but had lived most of his life in Pembroke. At the time of his death, he was a resident of the Claxton Nursing Home, Claxton. Mr. Jackson was a lifetime member of the Pembroke United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Pembroke Masonic Lodge for 58 years. During his working years, he was owner/operator of a filling station in Pembroke, and he was also a retired Bryan County school bus driver. He was an excellent gardener while he was physically able, and he enjoyed sharing the bounty of his gardens each summer. Survivors: sister, Mrs. Lottie Rutledge of Savannah; step-daughter, Virginia L. Buckner of Pembroke; two step-granddaughters, Rachel B. Stewart of Bellville, and Rose B. Floyd of Pembroke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Morrison Memorial Chapel. Burial: Northside Cemetery.
