SMITH Robert Lee Smith age 80 of Orange Park, Fl. passed away January 19, 2011. He was born in Huron, Michigan, April 5, 1930. He served in the 82nd Airborne U. S. Air Force at Fort Bragg, N.C. He served on the police force in both Duval and Clay County. In 1972 he was the first police reservist to get Policeman of the year. He was President of the Antique Car Club and for many years he ran the Ms. Andrew Jackson Beauty Padget. Bob was an electrician and a pilot for the Florida Times Union and retired after 33 yrs of service. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, lodge # 2020 since 1982 and served as Governor and entertainment chairmen. He had his Fellow Degree. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Margery Smith, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He was the Rock of our family and we will cherish his sense of humor, his patience, kindness, counsel and guidance. He is survived by his beloved companion of 18 years, Joyce Tillman, two daughters, Diann LaBianca (Bud), Shelba Williams (Doug), and a son Paul Smith. 9 grandchildren. 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many sorrowing friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 1-25-11 at 11am at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, Fl. 32073. The family received friends from 5-7pm Monday at the funeral home.
