Robert Lee Howard, 87, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2001, at Saint Francis Hospital. A native of Greenville, he was a son of the late William Gladstone and Jan Thompson Howard. Mr. Howard was a graduate of Parker High School and attended Furman University. He was co-owner and operator of Howard Brothers Gulf Station in West Greenville and a member of Brandon Baptist Church, where he was a former Deacon, member of the Joy Group, the Robert Glazner Sunday School Class, and was a Sunday School Teacher for over 52 years. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Howard Kelly of Greenville and Judy Howard Daniel and her husband Billy, of North Augusta; a sister-in-law, Mary F. Howard, of Greenville; four grandchildren, Robert James "Jimmy" Daniel of North Augusta, William Lee Daniel of Thomson, Ga., Steven Howard Kelly of West Union, and Morgan Jan Kelly of Greenville; three great-grandchildren, Robert Daniel, Christopher Daniel and Tyler Daniel, all of North Augusta. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wives, Tululah D. Howard and Hazel M. Howard; his twin sister, Genevieve Howard; a brother, Ernest G. Howard; and a son-in-law, James B. Kelly. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Brandon Baptist Church, with interment at the Garden of Hope Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation: Tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Westville Memorial Funeral Home.
