COWAN Robert LeRoy Cowan Jr. (Pete), formerly of Jacksonville, FL, resident of Aldersgate Continuing Care Retirement Community in Charlotte, NC, died peacefully February 3, 2005, surrounded by his family. Mr. Cowan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty; daughters Jane Cowan Holding (Graham) and Betsy Cowan Joyner (Matt) of Charlotte; sons Bob Cowan (Valerie) of Braselton, GA and Tom Cowan (Patty) of Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren; sister Claire Haring (Bill) of Texas and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, February 8 at 3:00 p.m. at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC with Dr. John Mills and Dr. Millie Snyder officiating.
