Obituary of Robert Lachance


LACHANCE, Robert - Passed away peacefully at the Espanola General Hospital on Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 at the age of 73 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved son of the late Leo and Anne (nee Lemieux) Lachance. He is survived by his brothers, Edmond (wife Carol) & Romeo (wife Rejeanne) both of Massey, cherished sister Melrose St. Louis of Elliot Lake and special niece Helen Owen of Espanola. Predeceased by brother Omer (wife Theresa) and sister Theresa Rainville both of Massey. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Robert was an accomplished musician and enjoyed playing his fiddle and piano at many family gatherings and events. He was well respected among his peers and other musicians having won several fiddle contests in past years. We are all grateful for his gift of music. Friends may call at the Massey Visitation Centre, Massey on Monday, October 6th, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Massey on Tuesday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brendon Doherty officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of ashes in the Massey Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of your choice.
