Robert "Bob" L.White, age 73, of 802 S. Townville St., Seneca, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at his residence. Born in Oconee County, July 26, 1929, Mr.White was an assistant Post Master at the Seneca Post Office, and was a retired linotype processor at the Seneca Journal and Anderson Independent Mail. He also was a member of Seneca Masonic Lodge, Seneca Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rites, York Rites, Hejaz Shrine Club, and served as a hospital guide for Shriners Hospital of Greenville. Mr. White served his country as a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Sara Owens White, of the home; a son, Roger Lane White, and wife, Jenny, of Seneca; a brother, Gene Corbin, of Tennessee; a sister, Joyce Gaines, of Seneca; three grandchildren, Crystal White, Paula White and Jamey Matheson; and one great-grandson, Rivers Matheson. He was predeceased by his mother, Millie Corbin. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at the Chapel of Sandifer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronnie Wald officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The body is at Sandifer Funeral Home in Westminster, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to Snow Creek Baptist Church, 206 Snow Creek Church Road, Seneca, SC 29678. The family is at the home of Roger L.White, 169 Snow Creek Road, Seneca, SC. The Sandifer Funeral Home, Westminster, is in charge of arrangements.
