Robert L. Owen, 95, died July 30, 2012, at Martin Memorial Hospital South, Stuart. He was born in Allendale, N.J., and lived in Hobe Sound since 1989, coming from St. Paul, Minn. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army as a medic during the Normandy Invasion. Prior to retiring, he was the owner/operator of Bob Owen Associates, Mutual of Omaha in St. Paul for more than 40 years. He was a member of Peace Presbyterian Church, Stuart. He was a member of the Power Squadron and Pool & Yacht Club in St. Paul and Lost Lake Golf & Country Club, Hobe Sound. Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Hier of St. Paul; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Owen on July 23; son, Robert L. Owen Jr.; and his brother, Edward Owen. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Presbyterian Church, 4881 S.E. Cove Road, Stuart, FL 34887. Services: A memorial celebration for Robert and Lillian Owen will be Sept. 30 at a time to be announced at Peace Presbyterian Church with Dr. James Bailey officiating.
