ROBERT L. JOHNSON EAST CHICAGO, IN Robert L. Johnson, age 55, of East Chicago, IN, passed away July 9, 2009. He is survived by his mother, Ellen Johnson of Highland; three sons: Robert, Timothy and Jonathon; and children's mother, Wendy Jackson, all of Texas; two brothers: David (Pat) Johnson and Tim (Rose) Johnson both of Munster, IN; one sister, Francine (Pete) Vukovich of Hammond, IN; two uncles: Noble (Joan) Clark of Crown Point, IN, Don (Marlene) Ohmann of Gary; many nephews and one niece. Preceded in death by his father Robert Johnson in 2007. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 16, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. Rev. Alex Stone officiating, cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Robert attended Woodmar Methodist Church, employed at Bar Processing Corp. of Chicago Heights, veteran of the U.S. Navy Vietnam Era, life member of American Legion Post 369 of East Chicago who will post colors at 5:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the children education fund.
