BARNWELL, S.C. - Robert L. "Bobby" Davis, 47 husband of Carol Beth Cone Davis, died Friday, October 3, 2008 after an extended illness. Bobby was a native of Allendale, S.C., the son of the late Bennie L. and Marilyn Holt Davis. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Barnwell First Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher. Bobby was a former Deacon and Sunday school teacher at Allendale Baptist Church. Bobby loved his community and children by volunteering as a Rec. girl's softball and soccer coach and as a Boy Scout Leader. He worked for 25 years and was Manager of Tactical Operations Training Department in the Training Division for Wackenhut Services, Inc. He also was Chairman of Dept. of Energy Firearms Quality Panel. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Barnwell First Baptist Church with the Reverend Stephen Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at Swallow Savannah Cemetery, Allendale, S.C. Survivors are his wife, Carol Beth Cone Davis of Barnwell; two children, Leigh Anne Davis and Julie Nicole Davis, both of the home; and one sister and brother-in-law, Linda D. and Rusty Meyer of Allendale.
