Robert-L. Carter, died. Please consult the obituary here:
CARTER--Judge Robert L. The Board of Directors, Staff, children and families of Northside Center for Child Development note with sadness the passing of Judge Carter, an activist and fighter for justice for all people. He joined our Board in 1965, and we are deeply grateful for his many years of service as a member of our Board, and more recently on the Northside Council of Advisors. Judge Carter was a close friend of Northside's founders, Drs. Kenneth and Mamie Phipps Clark, and relied on their "Doll Study" research to attack the scourge of segregation, bringing their work into the historic Brown vs. Board of Education case. He understood Northside's mission to give children the strength to meet the impact of racial subjugation and discrimination and not be defeated. His determination and spirit to fight injustices everywhere made this world a better place. We loved him and will miss him terribly. Michael Goldstein, Chairman Susan Patricof, President Thelma Dye, Ph.D., Executive Director/CEO
