Robert Johnson a longtime resident of Mahopac, NY died Sunday July 5, 2009. He was 75. He was born in Manhattan on September 3, 1933, the son of Leonard and Alice Johnson. Bob was a retired baked products distributor, with a route in Danbury, CT. Bob served in the US Marines Corp and was a life member of VFW Post 5491 in Mahopac and the Marine Corps League of Putnam County. He was very active in the Toys For Tots Program. Bob was also a life member of the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Dept. as well as several other fire associations. On May 25, 1963 he married Claire Brown at St. Angela Merci Church in the Bronx. In addition to his wife of Mahopac, he is survived by his son Robert and his wife Jennifer of Pompton Lakes, NJ and his grandchildren Robert James and Emilia Rose. Visiting will be held today (Wed) from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:45 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac with interment to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
