Robert "Don" Johnson M.D., 68, Punt Gorda, died Oct. 4, 2003. He was born April 6, 1935, in Hammond, Ind., and came to Punta Gorda in 2000. He served in the Navy and was a physician practicing at the Madison Clinic for 37 years before retiring. He was a member of the Madison Rotary Club, the Jefferson County Medical Society, the Indiana State Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the Punta Gorda Yacht Club. He also was a lifetime member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Madison, Ind. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Alice; a daughter, Beth Rumpler of Shady Side, Md.; a son, David of Carmel, Ind.; a brother, Arthur of Gaithersburg, Md.; and two granddaughters. A memorial service will be at a later date. Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services of Punta Gorda is in charge.
